OVERVIEW OF THE TRIP
This 3-day safari is a special trip to enjoy Tanzania’s beauty. On the first day, you’ll go to Tarangire National Park. You’ll see many elephants, giraffes, and lions, as well as big baobab trees that make the park special. You’ll have lunch in the park and keep exploring until it’s time to rest at your lodge or camp.
The second day will take you to Ngorongoro Crater. Here, you’ll see lots of animals like rhinos, flamingos, and zebras. You’ll spend the whole day inside the crater, enjoying its wildlife and peaceful views. You’ll eat lunch by a hippo pool and leave the crater in the afternoon. The day ends with dinner and rest at a lodge or camp nearby.
On the last day, you’ll visit a Maasai village. You’ll meet the local people, see their homes, and learn about their traditions. After the visit, you’ll have lunch and then return to Arusha or move on to another place.
FULL ITINERARy
Your adventure starts early in the morning with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, which is about 140 kilometers and takes approximately 3 hours by car. Once you arrive, you’ll embark on an exciting game drive to spot wildlife like elephants, lions, giraffes, and the iconic baobab trees. Midway through the day, enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by the beauty of the wild. In the afternoon, continue your exploration of this incredible park, which is renowned for its large herds of elephants. As evening approaches, leave the park and head to Karatu for an overnight stay at Pamoja Africa Camps and Lodge or The Retreat at Ngorongoro, where dinner and relaxation await.

After an early breakfast, you’ll set off for the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. The drive from Karatu to Ngorongoro is about 50 kilometers and takes around 1.5 hours. Descend into the crater for an unforgettable full day of wildlife viewing. The crater is teeming with animals like rhinos, zebras, flamingos, and many others, offering amazing opportunities to see them up close. Pause for a picnic lunch by a tranquil hippo pool, taking in the serene atmosphere. In the afternoon, explore more of this unique natural wonder before ascending back to the crater rim. After your adventure, return to Karatu for another overnight stay at Pamoja Africa Camps and Lodge or The Retreat at Ngorongoro, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful night.

The distance from Karatu to a nearby Maasai village is relatively short, typically within 1-2 hours of driving, depending on the location. In the afternoon, make your journey back to Arusha or move on to your next destination, bringing your memorable 3-day trip to a close.
